Turkish bank statement to Excel converter for accountants
Last updated:
EkstreX is a browser tool that converts Turkish bank statements (banka ekstresi) to Excel for accountants (mali müşavir, SMMM, muhasebeci). It reads Ziraat Bankası, İş Bankası and Garanti BBVA statements, separates POS commission where the statement states it, checks the totals and produces an Excel workbook plus a draft CSV for Luca. The interface is in Turkish.
Ziraat, İş Bankası and Garanti BBVA statements to Excel (Garanti also from PDF)
- Ziraat Bankası: spreadsheet export only (.xlsx, .xls or .csv), in two description formats. The older format states the gross card amount and the commission; the format used since May 2026 states only the commission, so the gross amount is calculated as net credit plus commission. Ziraat PDFs and photos are not supported.
- Garanti BBVA: a text-based PDF in the layout the tool was built for (a different layout stops the conversion instead of guessing), or a photo of such a page, recognised on your device. From the second row on, every photo row is checked against the change in balance; the first row cannot be checked this way. Photo reading has so far been tested only on generated test images. The gross amount is calculated as net plus commission.
- İş Bankası: Excel export from İşCep (an internet banking file is read if it has the same columns), with net card sales (NET SATIŞ TUTARI) and no commission per transaction.
- Other banks: not supported. You can request your bank through the request form (İstek) in the tool and attach a sample statement if you wish.
You can process up to 30 files at once, as separate workbooks or as one combined workbook with a sheet per file.
How to separate POS commission in a Turkish bank statement
For each POS credit in a Ziraat or Garanti BBVA statement, EkstreX reads the commission from the description and writes it to its own column, next to the net credit, the gross card sale and the original description. The gross amount is read from the description in the older Ziraat format and calculated as net credit plus commission in the newer Ziraat format and for Garanti BBVA. Both banks pay card sales into the account net of commission and state the commission only in the description text. Where the bank gives no commission, the cell stays empty, never zero. Column headings are in upper case without Turkish characters, such as TARIH, GIRIS, KOMISYON and BAKIYE.
Control sheet: does the statement add up?
A single-file workbook has a Muhasebe sheet and a Kontrol sheet with live Excel formulas; the combined workbook has one sheet per file and one shared Kontrol sheet. The balance on the first row plus every later transaction must equal the closing balance. For the older Ziraat format, gross minus commission is also compared with the net credits, an independent check since the bank states both. For the newer Ziraat format and Garanti BBVA the gross amount is calculated, so this comparison proves nothing extra.
Each file gets one verdict: Tutuyor (it adds up), İncele (needs review), Fark var (difference found) or POS yok (no POS rows). Three kinds of rows are flagged one by one with Manuel inceleme gerekli (manual review needed) in a DURUM column of the Excel file: rows that look like POS but match no rule, rows with a commission marker but no readable commission amount, and the first row of a photo. The final review is yours.
Luca accounting import: CSV draft
For a single statement you can download Luca fişi (taslak), a draft journal voucher. It follows the 11 columns of the Luca template for Excel data import (Fiş No, Fiş Tarihi, Hesap Kodu, Evrak No, Evrak Tarihi, Açıklama, Borç, Alacak, Miktar, Döviz, Kur), with semicolon separator, windows-1254 encoding, one voucher per day, at most 400 lines per voucher and 50 vouchers per file. The import into Luca has not been tested yet: try a small file in your own Luca environment first and choose ; (Türkçe) as the separator on the import screen.
Default journal entries for POS commission and other transactions
| Transaction | Default accounts |
|---|---|
| POS with commission (Ziraat, Garanti BBVA) | Debit 102.001 net and 653.001 commission, credit 108.001 gross |
| POS at İş Bankası (net only) | Debit 102.001, credit 108.001 |
| Other incoming payment | Debit 102.001, credit 120.001 (marked ÖNERİ) |
| Bank charges recognised in the description (such as EFT fee or BSMV) | Debit 770.001 (marked ÖNERİ), credit 102.001 |
| Other outgoing payment | Debit 320.001 (marked ÖNERİ), credit 102.001 |
Fees the pattern does not recognise, such as the POS device fee on Ziraat and İş Bankası statements, fall under other outgoing payment (320.001). Account labels as used in the app: 102.001 bank, 108.001 credit card, 653.001 commission, 770.001 bank charges, 120.001 customers, 320.001 suppliers. ÖNERİ (suggestion) marks a proposed counter-account that you check in Luca before creating the voucher.
The accounts cannot be changed in EkstreX; you change them in Luca, and they must exist in the client’s chart of accounts. The account for POS commission is your professional choice; 653.001 is only the default. This page is not accounting or tax advice.
No Luca file is produced when the verdict is Fark var or İncele, or when POS-like rows remain unrecognised, which is typical for İş Bankası files with card refunds.
Luca itself can import PDF statements (Muhasebe > Banka İşlemleri > Banka Aktarım (PDF)) and offers a bank integration (Banka Entegrasyonu) that luca.com.tr describes as free for its Ticari products and the Mali Müşavir package, with 17 banks listed. EkstreX complements these: it separates POS commission before posting, adds the control sheet, processes statements from several clients at once and works with the Excel statement a client sends you.
Luca is software owned by TÜRMOB. EkstreX is an independent Emonse product and is not affiliated with TÜRMOB or Luca.
Import file for other accounting programs
For a single statement you can also download an import file for other accounting programs (Aktarım (Excel) or Aktarım (CSV)): one table with nine columns for date, original description, outflow, inflow, signed amount, balance, document number, commission and card gross. It is not offered when the verdict is Fark var or İncele, when a POS row cannot be resolved, when a row amount or balance does not add up, or when the statement was read from a photo. The import into Paraşüt, Zirve, Mikro, ETA or Logo has not been tested yet; the Turkish guides below explain which column goes to which field. These names only describe file layouts and import steps; EkstreX is not affiliated with the owners of these programs.
Local processing: the statement stays in your browser
The statement file is not uploaded for conversion; it is read in your browser. To charge your row usage, the server receives only summary figures: the number of rows and of POS rows, the bank, the verdict and the source type (spreadsheet, PDF or photo). Signing in and deducting rows from your balance require an internet connection. Emailing the result is optional; if you choose it, the file is sent through our server.
Free sample, account and prices
The fixed Ziraat sample (12 transactions) runs without an account, including Excel and Luca draft: run the free sample. Your own files need a free account and row credits; each file uses one row credit per transaction, with a minimum of 50 per file. Current prices are in the prices section of the Turkish homepage.
